Glossary A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z Scrip Certificates issued by the federal government that could be redeemed for cash. Initially scrip was only for Métis people, but by the time the treaty making process reached Alberta it was decided that Aboriginal People could choose scrip as well. Scrip came in two varieties–land scrip and money scrip. Land scrip could be redeemed for 240 acres of Crown land and money scrip was worth $240 towards the purchase of land elsewhere. |
