Rankin Inlet is home to about two-thousand people and is one of the largest settlements in the territory. Tootoo worked his way up through the hockey system and gained fame as member of the Canadian Junior team in 2002. He has overcome many barriers during his quest to play in the NHL, and in the process has become a role model for many young people in the territory of Nunavut.
